THE NET-WERK: Fishnet is Back
Late summer to early fall is our absolute favorite time of year. Even more so than ringing in the New Year, back to school (or the transition into fall) marks the start of a new beginning. It’s an opportunity to start over, set new goals, and to reinvent your style.
This year we’re taking our wardrobe back to the days of grunge. Think even more ripped and shredded jeans, band tees, and darker colors. One of the best ways to achieve that 90s-era look is to pair all your fave pieces with fishnet...yes, fishnet!
We totally get it! Wearing a new trend is always a bit intimidating—but it shouldn’t be! We LOVE wearing and accessorizing with fishnet and mesh because it makes a huge style statement without being overpowering. It’s an incredibly easy way to add a trendy touch to your closet with only one or two key pieces.
Whether it’s just a pop of fishnet under your booties, layering fishnet tights under ripped and distressed jeans, or rocking a fishnet or mesh bodysuit under a crop top, here are four foolproof ways to style the trend!
With booties or heels:
Just a touch of fishnet can go a long way. Fishnet socks with heels or booties is the easiest way to add a pop of grunge to an outfit. Try wearing it out at night with heels or during the day with booties for a “too cool for school” vibe.

For you trendsetters out there, this is the hottest way to rock the fishnet trend right now. Wear fishnet tights under ripped and destroyed jeans for a 90s throwback feel. We even love this look with lower rise jeans and a crop top so the tights peek out around the hips and waist. You may not be performing Nirvana covers on stage tonight, but with this cool look you might as well be!
As a bodysuit:
This is our go-to way to wear fishnet for a night out. We love that it bares just the right amount of skin and BONUS! You can finally show off that bralette you love so much. Pair a fishnet bodysuit with high-rise jeans or a skirt for the ultimate girly grunge look.
Under crop tops:
Wearing fishnet doesn’t always mean baring more—in this case it’s a way to cover up just a little when wearing a cropped or cutoff top. We love this layering technique because it’s an easy way to add a grunge vibe to something as simple as a cutoff tee.
