When you return merchandise without a receipt, you are issued a Merchandise Credit Card for the current selling price.

What are your general terms and conditions for a rue21 Gift Card?

You can present the rue21 Gift Card at the time of purchase and the available amount will be applied toward your rue21 in-store or online purchase. rue21 eGift Cards are valid for use in the US only. The card does not expire and is redeemable for merchandise only unless otherwise required by law. We can replace lost or stolen cards upon presentation of proof of purchase if there is an amount remaining.

When you purchase a rue21 Gift Card online, you have numerous shipping options—several are listed below:

Standard (8-14 business days): Free
Ground (estimated 3-6 business days): $6.50
2-Day (2 business days): $11.25
Standard Overnight (1 business day): $20.00

Feel free to choose the best shipping option before placing your order to accommodate your delivery needs. All orders received after 2:00 PM EST will be processed and shipped the next business day. Gift card orders shipping to a P.O. Box must choose the Standard Shipping option.

Where can I ship a gift card?

rue21 ships gift cards to the 48 contiguous states, which excludes Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we regret that we cannot ship rue21 Gift Cards to Canada or internationally.

Can I send an eGift card to myself?

Yes, you can send an eGift card directly to yourself. Simply type your email address into the recipient field.

What does my recipient receive when I send a rue21 eGift Card?

The recipient will receive an email up to 6 hours after purchase with a link to retrieve the eGift card. The eGift card along with the personalized message, its value, and code number will appear with simple redemption instructions.

When is the eGift card sent to my recipient?

The recipient will receive an email up to 6 hours after purchase with a link to retrieve the eGift card. For your protection and the protection of the merchant, all eGift cards are subject to review and will be processed and delivered to the gift recipient accordingly. Please contact Customer Service after 6 hours from purchase with any questions.

What happens if I accidently sent my eGift card to the wrong email?

Please Contact Us for further assistance with your eGift card purchase. If it has not been viewed or redeemed, we can resend the eGift card to the correct email.

What if my recipient accidently deleted my rue21 eGift Card?

How do I check the order status of my gift card?

To check the order status of your gift card, simply click here! Enter your order number from your email confirmation and click “Continue.”

How do I track my gift card order?

To track your online gift card purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information when your order has shipped.

However, if the USPS Standard Shipping method was chosen, there will not be a tracking number associated with your order. We ask that you please allow 7-10 business days (Monday-Friday) for it to arrive. Shipping times may be longer around the holiday season based on U.S. mail volume.

Please note: We have no way to stop a card that’s already in transit.

How will I know my recipient received my eGift card?

You will receive an email confirming the eGift card has been viewed. You can also use your order number to check the status of your eGift card.

Do I need to activate my rue21 eGift Card?

All rue21 eGift cards arrive activated. Once you retrieve your eGift card, it is ready to use.

How can I redeem my rue21 Gift Card?

You can redeem your rue21 Gift Card in-store or online:

To redeem your gift card in-store, present your card at the checkout and the available amount will be applied toward your purchase at any rue21 store.
To redeem your gift card online, enter your 19-digit gift card number and 4-digit PIN at checkout, then click “Review Order.” The available amount will be applied toward your online purchase.

If my total does not exceed the total amount of my gift card, will the remaining balance still be available for future use?

If your total does not exceed the amount on your gift card, the remaining balance will remain on your gift card for future purchases online or in-store.

Can I redeem multiple Gift Cards for online purchases?

Yes, you can redeem multiple gift cards in-store and online. Simply present your gift cards to the cashier or add each as an additional form of payment online. Note: You can only redeem up to (3) gift cards for one online purchase.

If my gift card does not cover the total balance of my online purchase, can I use another form of payment to cover the remaining balance?

If the gift card you are redeeming does not cover the total purchase, you can use an additional method of payment. Please see payment options under the online ordering section for additional payment options.

Are rue21 eGift Cards mobile friendly?

Yes, we absolutely accept mobile eGift cards. Simply present your eGift card upon checkout to redeem.

How do I check the balance of my rue21 Gift Card?

To check your balance, simply click here! Enter the 19-digit gift card number and 4-digit PIN from the back of the card to view its current balance or call 1-800-351-9431 for further assistance.

How will I know how much money is on the eGift card I receive?

Refer to the link contained in your eGift card email notification. The redemption number and your balance will appear there.

Can I add to the balance remaining on my rue21 Gift Card?

At this time, you can’t add to the balance remaining on your rue21 Gift Cards. However, you can purchase a new gift card by clicking here.

Does my gift card expire?

rue21 gift cards do not expire and are redeemable for merchandise only unless otherwise required by law.

What does it mean if my gift card is inactive?

rue21 Gift Cards do not expire. However, after five years rue21 Gift Cards will go dormant due to inactivity. The cards become inactive to mitigate risk in the event the gift card is lost or stolen.

If you have an inactive card, please call the Gift Card services number on the back of your gift card to request a replacement be sent to you.

What if my gift card is lost, stolen, or damaged?

If lost, stolen, or damaged, rue21 Gift Cards can be replaced for the remaining working balance with proof of purchase. The replacement value will be the unused value of the card at the time the loss or theft is reported.

Can I convert a rue21 eGift Card to a physical rue21 Gift Card?

Yes, you can absolutely have your eGift Card converted to a physical rue21 Gift Card if a physical card is more convenient for you. Please email Customer Service for further assistance.
