My cause is to help endangered animals. I am saving money up right now to donate by babysitting and doing chores. These poor animals need our help. Together we can make a difference. Please join me and support my cause.

HI! Every since I was a little girl I watched my mom save her grocery bags and my grandfather save all his cans. Now that I am older and married I do the same thing. Every grocery bag I get, I save and reuse them as trash bags in the bathroom and in the bedroom. Every can, I give to my grandfather to take to recycle so he can get a little money. EVERY LITTLE THING HELPS!!

When me and my family are sorting through things in our house, I bag it all up and take it to Goodwill...they also take things such as toys, books, kitchenware and everything else you can imagine; even cars...
They are a big help in my community in savannah because when school time comes around and we have to wear uniforms we can buy from there save money and help people.

In my community my friends and I are helping by cleaning up all of the garbage that is thrown out of cars by careless drivers.
One day as I was riding my bike I came across a baby bird stuck in a plastic ring. So sad!
Keep the world clean and beautiful.

My older sister and I have been recycling and my sister has started an environmental club.
We clean up trash by the road. We were inspired by all the ads and campaigns to go green.
I have started to say "Go Green or Go Home."

I help little girls with emotional problems and I encourage them to be smart and use their common senses and that they are WORTH WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!!!
I use my allowance money to buy them snacks and ice-cream during our sessions. And by the way I am a 16 year old female who is an HONOR STUDENT. I plan to go The University of Mississippi, major in English, and attend Harvard to study law. My goals and reasons for starting these meeting is to help the young ladies become better people, build their self-esteem, cut down on the teenage birth rate, and just be successful in life. It's been 17 months since I first started and I have 23 members, but 18 who come every time we meet.

In Maine, most of us recycle; we learn about it early in grade school.
I wish everyone could learn about recycling at a young age. Some states, like Maine, have redemption centers, which give money back for every can or bottle you bring in. If more states did that, more people would recycle cans and bottles.

I am making a difference in my community by helping with a local rotary club, by making a delivering Christmas boxes for the poor. We also include books for the children. This club provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace throughout the world. There are 33,000 rotary clubs in more than 200 countries. The main objective is service throughout the community including trash pickups on the side of the roads, also in the workplace and throughout the world.

My community means a lot to me, so what I do to help it is I walk around the community and pick up all the trash. Then I go home and see if any of them can be recycled. That is just one thing I do to save the community

We recycle our bottles, tin, glass and cardboard. We re-use water bottles until we get a new one then we recycle our old bottles. I want the world to be a better place because we only have one earth and were killing it. By recycling things we are helping our world. rue should support my cause because there’s a lot of diseases in the world but I know a few people with diabetes and I wanted to give the one thousand dollars to St. Judes Children’s Hospital to help them maybe find a cure for diabetes.

I take a class in global warming at my local middle school. We are learning what has caused this and I want to learn more. We have learned is that if we keep on using the power we use, our generation will have problems in about 300-500 years. I know that seems like a long time but think about all of the kids to come after us. What if they start to hear this and then the next day it can change.
We need to start using solar powered energy. rue 21 should support my cause and just help at the schools to see what we can do to help this wonderful planet to live on. Who’s with me?

NICA Circle of Winners Program is an organization in Fort Worth Texas that helps young students go to college and succeed no matter what. With NICA we are a group of high school students who tutor younger students in various subjects and also by being positive role models to these children. I feel that we are helping our community by tutoring younger students and guiding them on the right path. These students see our passion for going to college and helping out by becoming positive role models to them.
My passion was fueled by my interest in helping people, since a young student I have been involved in many volunteer activities and NICA is one of the best programs that I feel help our community and the future members.

After visiting the Museum of science and industry a few times, the idea of GOING GREEN really grew on me. So I went home and researched around on how to make myself and my family greener. I started using tips. Soon enough, I was coming up with my own ideas and efficient ways to go green. Now I’ve even started my own website. I suffer from extreme depression and anxiety. And, to tell the truth, going green has helped me more than ever with my problems. It’s as simple as having a hobby to focus on, or just knowing I’m doing everyone some good.

I have done many things to help my community out. Our school joined the GO campaign and teamed up with a village named Lupanga in Africa. I have donated water, food, and clothes. I recycle my bottles and refuse to throw paper or any trash items on the ground. Life pretty much fueled my passion. I think that rue21 should support the GO campaign because there are many people in our world that are not able to afford clothes, food, shelter, and among other things.

If I could win the money for a cause it would go to the animal shelter where I got my last dog. They could get more kennels and would not have to put as many animals down. When they put animals down, it’s very sad because each year they put over 10,000 animals down which were abandoned by the owners. They found my dog and her brothers and sisters on the side of a road and they almost got hit by a car. I hope I could win the $1,000 for the animal shelter.

To make a difference in my community I am going green. I turn off the water while brushing my teeth, I turn off the lights or a television if no one is in the room, I take quick showers, I use a reusable lunchbox everyday, and I recycle. I have organized coat drives in my school that donate clothes for homeless people in the winter. All my clothes that do not fit me or I don't like anymore-instead of just throwing away I donate (I always make sure they look fabulous, so someone else will look just as fabulous!) I also help younger students with schoolwork and soccer. I am only 13 and I think I make a big impact on the earth.

I make a difference in my community. I go around and help everybody in need. First, I help the elderly people cut their grass, rake their leaves and walk their dogs. I hang out with them. I also have some little kids that live on my street that I help with their homework. I like helping people in need.

I have stopped using paper and plastic bags at the grocery store and switched to the cloth bags to help cut down on the waste of trees and limit the pollution in our country. Along with that I am attending school to get my CNA and the hopefully my RN, so that I can get my foot in the health care industry, to make a difference in peoples lives, and hopefully save lives.
I am fueled by everything that I see in the news and media. All the families losing homes, people getting sick with out health care to provide them with the accurate medicine they need to get better, the lack of jobs in our country, for people to get the appropriate health care. These things make me want to get out there and do something to help our nation in its time of need.

To make a difference in our community I am doing community service and I help the elderly. I also love to help children especially babies.

For the past two years, I have been going to Mexico on a mission trip. Every year a group of us goes to visit the kids in an orphanage in Acapulco called Casa Hogar. The orphanage is not very financially stable and is in great need of clothes and other necessities for the kids. It would be really amazing to be able to give the kids the things they need. If rue supported this cause, the money that would go towards the orphanage would help so many kids in need. The orphanage needs money to stay open so supporting Casa Hogar will allow the kids to have a home and a better life than being on the streets. I am very passionate about these kids in Casa Hogar and I would love if rue would also do the same and help them out!

January 2008, I went on a service trip with my University. Who knew that it would completely change my life. I traveled to Honduras, the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, in order to teach some English classes, build something for them, and interact with the kids. But the moment I met those kids, they changed my life. I was overwhelmed by not only the amount of young boys and girls standing around me but, also at the huge smiles encompassing their faces. They were happy to see us yet, they didn't even know us. They wanted to talk to me and show me around their country.
I came back home and could think of nothing else but helping those kids. At school that spring, I planned and implemented a Pancake Brunch Fundraising Event for the Honduran Children. We raised about $500. I also went back to Honduras in June (2008) to do the same exact things as before. I could tell that the kids were so very happy to see us again. Once they know that you've kept your promise and have come back to help them, you become a part of their lives and hearts forever.

In my community I am tutoring children in elementary school in an after school program which is free of charge. I have always had a passion for working with children every since my church started adopting children. I think rue should support my cause because I am not only tutoring these children but I am also opening up my heart and arms to them, letting them know that they are special and beautiful in every way. Also, I am teaching the young girls how to respect and carry themselves as ladies so they won't get treated badly as they grow older.

I recently started volunteering one day a week at a Licensed Hippotherapy program for disabled children. Hippotherapy is the use of horses in physical therapy.
I am so passionate about horses and I tried to think of the most productive way to spend my time with horses. You should support this cause because in this very successful physical therapy program, children get one step closer to gaining the freedom that comes with being able to walk, which is something we all take for granted from time to time.

I support the Mel Trotter Mission. It is located in various parts of West Michigan. The mission is made up of hundreds of volunteers and some paid employee's who assist hundreds of thousands of people who need help, especially around the holidays. They have 3 retail stores, separate men and women's facility's used for bible studies, dental and eye care visits with certified doctors, computer lab etc.
The biggest reason I would like the money to go to the Mel Trotter mission is because they provide food and a family friendly atmosphere for Thanksgiving dinner. For example, by providing $1.92 you can feed one person a HUGE thanksgiving meal. Can you imagine what $1,000 would do? (In actuality it would feed 520 people. WOW!) My family has volunteered at the mission in the past and it’s a great feeling to give back. The people are so grateful and you can’t help but make a few friends. The amount of people that are helped daily simply amazes me and I would like nothing more than to see an extra 520 people be able to eat a hot meal.

My cause is Big Dads Mentoring Corporation in Peoria IL. I have watched this mentoring corp. change many lives of many young boys and girls. It is owned and operated by a wonderful man Earnest (big dad) Rodgers. He has been mentoring these young boys and girls for over 15 years.
He continuously looks after them by letting them know they can change their lives for the better. There are many young men and women in jail...But just for a minute think how many more would be in jail if there weren’t mentoring programs out there for these at risk teens like Big Dads Mentoring Program. I see these changes in these young men and women lives....No price could ever pay for the work he has accomplished with the kids...But the community and I want to encourage him to keep doing the work he is doing.

Hello. My name is Sharika and I attend Mississippi School of The Arts. I have created a gown that I am going to donate to someone less fortunate. I spent hours and days drawing, designing, and sewing it. This was my first time sewing out one of my designs. I have created a gown which can be worn at prom and an Eco Friendly dress which can be worn anywhere. Doing this has struck a new passion, and if it has a dramatic effect, I will continue to make dresses to the best of my ability.

My youth group is doing something called the 30 hour Famine. We are raising money to help poverty in countries like Africa. $30 will feed one child for a month. We have about two months to raise as much as we can to reach our goal of $15,000, then our entire youth group will get together and fast for 30 hours, drinking only water and juice.
My personal goal is a $800 but I would love if I could raise more than that! Seeing a video of all the kids that don't even have a place to sleep at night let alone food, brought tears to my eyes, and it made me want to go over myself and give these families and children not only food and water but a sturdy home that wasn't made out of cardboard and tin. It really made me realize just how lucky I am. It makes you completely selfless and could break a heart of steel. rue21 should support this cause because it would mean saving and impacting hundreds of lives across the world!

The thing that I'm doing in my community is there is this program that I'm in at school it’s called the Invisible Children and we help the kids in Uganda and in Africa. We raise money for them to have a better environment. I also help my church when we give out food to the less fortunate in our community. The thing that fueled my passion is how it is such a blessing when I see the less fortunate eyes light help when you help them and give them things that they need.
The reason why I think rue should support my cause is because I think there is too many less fortunate people out there that need help while some of us are just sitting around feeding our faces, and doing things that we need to do instead of out there helping the less fortunate getting their life straight and try to help them get the things that they need. That’s why I think rue should support my cause.

I do a lot in my community that makes a difference. I donate to the food and clothes drives and I try to help out my friends and neighbors. My passion for doing these things is the fact that one day I could be that person that might need help and I hope someone will help me.
If I was to win that money I would donate the money to Todd Children's Hospital . The reason why I think rue should support my cause is because I think this money would not only benefit me it would benefit all the people out there who need it and deserve.

I am in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program in my community. I decided to join because I love kids and I think they all deserve to have someone special in their life they can count on. About a year ago, my cousin and his friend died in a car accident. They were both under the influence of alcohol and went around a curve too fast. I have wanted to join the SADD association earlier, but since this incident, I have had a stronger opinion on driving drunk. I believe rue21 should support my cause because these two young men are not the only ones who have died in the past year. The rate of drunk driving teenagers will increase with each year and we need to help them reduce their chance of a dying in a car accident.

Well I don't know how I can help in my community, but I strongly believe in helping children all over the entire world who suffer from living in poverty. I specifically want to help the children find better homes and get the 100% medical attention they need. I like to focus on the children specifically because I believe children are the future and people should do all they can to help the kids who can’t help themselves. There were 12.8 million children living in poverty in 2005, the number now in 2008 I can’t even imagine. Being only 13 years old there isn't a lot I can do while still trying to help myself and my family, but when I do get older and I'm able to help the children of the world, I FULLY intend on doing so. Not just by donating money but actually traveling the world to see these children and do every thing I can to help lift them out of their situations.

I am recycling, unplugging unused wires, turning off lights, buying fluorescent light bulbs to conserve energy!!!! What fueled my passion is when I learned how much it helped the world and if you do simple things like taking a minute off your shower. Count to ten before cutting the lights on, and turn down the water heater to at least 130F.You should support my cause to show others how to help the community and make our earth a better place.

In my community I have volunteered at a local hospital. From doing paperwork and delivering it to doctor's offices to helping patients fill out menus, I really enjoyed it. I one day I would like to get a organization together to help homeless people from hurricane Katrina. I would also like to help the people in Africa and Iraq to get homes, food, and clothes. I would also like to get them the materials needed to attend school. rue should support my ideas because they can not only help people here in America, but also others around the world. If enough people put in the time and effort, the world would be filled with many more accomplished people and also happier people.

I went to Nicaragua in February for a week and a half with a local organization called Planting Hope in Nicaragua (plantinghope.org). You stay with a host family for a week, then you had a few vacation days. I went with my mom, and the trip completely opened my eyes. My host family was the poorest one, and I saw how horrible it was there. It was so beautiful in the landscape, and even with the poverty, all of the people welcomed you with open arms. rue21 should support my cause because it is important.

In my community I am helping a very small private school. They are in need of funds and my mother and I are trying our best and putting all of our extra time and effort into this project. We aren't being paid for are services we are just doing this because we are good people. The students need help. They are kids who need help constructing their future. These kids are at their last chances of graduating and all sorts of things. The teachers and everyone here are here for the kids and we have their best interest at heart. I sincerely hope you read my message and consider helping this school.

I'm going to start a Christian club in my school because we don't have one and my principal already approved, but my friends and I are waiting for the details. Actually my Youth Group Minister was talking to everyone about the group, so my friend Taylor and I decided to start one because I think I could really make a difference with my peers. We’ll encourage them to take a chance. After all...it's only a couple minutes of prayer and then school will start. So if they like what we do it may inspire them to tell their parents and maybe spread god's word even further!!!

Hi, my name is Alexis I’m 14 years of age. I attend Marion Academy in a small town in the middle of nowhere. I would say I help others at my school, because my school is so small. I had a friend who was really going through a lot because; we had a couple of guys picking on her about her weight, hair, and etc. The main thing females worry about is their weight. I saw her outside the gym, her eyes were blood shot red and she was breaking down crying. So I pulled her aside and asked her, "What's going on?" She replied, "a guy called me fat, and he’s talking about my hair.” It's was so hard for me to look at her and see her this way I almost cried too. She was very clear and heartbroken and she wanted to leave. I said you can’t leave that would make our school number of students go down and we may have to close. I told her what’s his face is a joker and he like to joke and just ignore him or just laugh with him. So from that day forward she's been here with us at Marion Academy and I’m glad she's over it.

I'm not an activist for any cause. I'm nineteen and in my life time I've participated in a few things to help those in need of it. I'm participated in the Relay For Life Events, doing everything I could, staying over night walking, helping serve food, helping in the kitchen, cleaning, getting water for people, and doing those events with the older women. I did it and it made me feel better then I knew possible. I stayed up all night and because of these great women walking for a cause and doing it with a smile was uplifting. I think it would be nice for the American Cancer Society to receive this money because not only are they putting awareness out there but it's also uplifting to the survivors.

I really want to give some money to the food bank in Covington but I don’t have time to earn my own money because I am busy with school and things on the weekend. I really want to do it because my religion teacher brought us to the food bank and we helped out and I really liked it.
I think you should support it because we have so many hurricanes down here every year or at least every few years and when we do that food bank looses all of its food. They give 70,000 cans of food to families a day (that’s what they told us) and they even have a dentist there that they give people cleanings to 40 dollars a person and it’s done by volunteer dentists. They could really use the money and they have this huge warehouse that takes 40,000 dollars a year to keep up. So please help out and give them the money.

I am a Leader for Global Citizen Corps and am teaming up with the different clubs in my school, such as Amnesty International and Model UN, to raise awareness and take action on World Food Day. We're going to do different activities during the World Food Day week to help prevent hunger and poverty and spread the word about this issue. Some of the things we have planned are holding a Hunger Banquet, raising money by selling "Snacks w/ a Fact"(where we attach a fact about hunger on a strip of paper to a lollipop or other items we sell), writing op-eds to our local newspapers and media, making posters, petitioning the Congress to help support this cause, and posting banners about hunger during our homecoming football game.
This is just one of the four major activities we plan to participate in this year. The other three concern World AIDS Day, Climate Change, and Education. I started these events in my school because all these activities are meant to raise public awareness about these issues, which allows to create a greater positive impact as a large student body as we help combat poverty and become better world citizens together.

Speech/Visually/Hearing Impaired, Spina Bifida, Emotional/Behavioral, Youth at Risk, Asperser’s Syndrome.
I help out because I care and because people need help. I want my children to learn to help those in need...because they can.

The thing I’m doing to make a difference in my community is joining key club at my high school. By joining key club, I do a lot of volunteering as in working at the Presbyterian home for old people, raking leaves, going to VA Bingo, visiting the homeless shelter, help build homes with the Habitat for Humanity, and much much more at no cost.
The thing that fueled my passion was seeing people that need help but have no money. Recently, my friends house just burnt down and he lives with a couple other family members and possibly will have no where to go. I'm going to raise money for him so he can get enough money to possibly eat dinner on a day to day basis and get a decent home back.
You should support my cause because I live life basically volunteering and helping with school events. I care deeply about other people with no selfishness in my body. Everyone comes first before me in my eyes. I love helping out as much as I can - knowing by what I’m doing is helping someone else that others might not see as being needed. With this being said, I have gotten some of my friends involved to help too. Help me make a difference in the world with baby steps hopefully leading into something big.

In my literature class we are doing a project on social injustice. I picked Child Abuse in Missouri. I found an organization and I am going to do fundraisers and buy stuff they need for the children that go there. rue21 should definitely support me because the children are our future and what is implanted in their minds today may be how they act tomorrow.

I am working on starting a foundation to help people better themselves and our community. It will focus on different aspects of life as in home life and the work force and things you may need help with like affordable housing. There will be different projects. The first project is to bring more affordable daycare centers and learning centers for toddlers and preschoolers. Other projects will include a pregnancy help center and an enrichment center for people to search for jobs and to better themselves. I would like to have more after school programs and summer activities. The foundation will benefit people all ages, races, and in many areas of their lives in which they may be struggling in.

My family is called the "hippy family". We recycle pretty much everything that's recyclable in my town. We have the energy saving light bulbs in every room in our house. I buy clothes made from "green" materials.
I believe that we should protect the Earth that God gave us, and that we should use resources responsibly. And I just wanted to do my part in changing the world, if even just a little bit.

When I take walks down the road I take a garbage bag with me and pick up anything I see on the side of the road and put it in the bag!!
No one takes the time to think about what they are doing.
If we don't watch out, any animal we may see everyday could be endangered at one point in time and who knows maybe extinct. We should save them now before its too late.

I live my life to serve and to help people. Just recently in my life, I have found a way to make a difference in this world. About a year ago, I was addicted to drugs and alcohol and I am only 17. Now that my life is together, I have dedicated it to helping those in need.
I volunteer at a nursing home, and it is one of the greatest experiences of my life. Also, I recently have begun strategizing ways to help people who are less fortunate by collecting supplies for people who don’t have enough money to buy life's essentials.
One day I hope to own my own nursing home, one where care and love is always given. Not only that, but I hope to become a person that people dealing with addictions can go to for advice.

I am going to a community recreational center and giving out free lunches with my grandmother during the summer.
What fuels my passion is the happy expressions on peoples faces when their children get fed after days of not getting food!!!

I am taking shorter showers, recycling, and using earth friendly products to make a difference.
In a magazine I saw tons of ways to make a difference and thought, if all these people can do it, why can't I?

I am part of a girls youth organization that encourages girls to volunteer throughtout their community as well as charity work and many other things. I love this organization because it not only teaches girls how to help out around the community and why it is important, it also teaches young girls many ways to represent themselves and many more things.

Two years ago I joined a service organization called Rainbow Girls, and just recently I was accepted into NJHS (National Junior Honor Society). Rainbow Girls is associated with the Masons. We do many many service projects in our community! For example last weekend me and a few of the other girls went to our local museum to help with the Folk Art Fair. We helped with the different booths and handed out lemonade to the other volunteers. And this weekend we will be having a car wash and the only money collected will be donations for a soon to be decided cause. We do service projects every week or so. But I would have to say that my favorite volunteering project would have to be the Light the Night Walk. Light the Night is when you get people to donate the desirable amount of money for every mile that you walk. Then every volunteer meets up and everybody gets a balloon with a battery powered light inside, then walks until they can't walk anymore! All of the proceeds from this charity event go towards finding a cure for Leukemia (blood cancer). I'm also looking forward to doing many more service projects!

Well in my community there are some people that are less fortunate. I often clean out my closet or when I'm just sorting through my clothes, I either pass them to people in my community or take them to Salvation Army. I think it's a big help because I know that there are more than enough people that are thankful for the consideration and love.
The thing that fueled this passion was my older sister. My sister and I used to and still do exchange clothes when they get too small or when we dont want them. I mean we thought of it as a brilliant idea because it saves money at times. So I just thought it was a good idea to pass them on. Therefore I can help others!!!

I am recycling. I've been recycling for about a month now. I've also planted some flowers down at the local parks! When I realized how much I could help by doing little things, I decided to just go for it!

I am in a club called ace. We are a student based club that helps out the community. We have joined the “Save Darfur Coalition” and made and sold Darfur shirts. We made sensory rooms for the mom kids in our high school and we have put on benefit concerts hoping to reach other people and show them what’s happening, and what we are trying to do to help.
I love helping people and after talking to some of the refugees at our benefit concert which was at Bellarman University in Louisville, KY. It opened my eyes to see what is really happening to children and families there.
By supporting our cause, it shows that kids can actually make a difference and we do care more about our world than the internet or cell phones or any other distraction. There are a few kids out there that will succeed in making a difference one day and I hope my group will be one of those kids.

Well me and my mom donate a lot of our clothes to places like salvation army and goodwill. Why throw clothes away when there are so many people in the world that have no clothes. During the winter me and my mom give old blankets to homeless people. We used to live on the side of town where you would see a lot of homeless people and it was cold one night and I was a bout 8 and I asked my mom if we could give a woman I had seen some things since it was so cold. We gave her an old coat, socks, some slippers and a sweat suit and a blanket.
Since then I have always loved to give. In May I went to a youth conference with my friend Taylor at the church of ladder day saints. We made care packages for people who needed them. When I was making them with the other kids I felt a special warmth knowing that I was providing someone with a toothbrush and a comb and a towel...things that I take for granted.

I am making a difference in my community by getting coffee grains that are left over and orange peels and then putting them in my garden to help them grow.
Everyone wants a beautiful yard and it is better to use orange peels then those chemical things you put on them.

It’s not the big things you do; it’s the little things - recycling, planting trees, not driving as much, using hybrids, etc. There are so many things the people of this world could do that they don’t and it's destroying our planet. But if everyone started just doing the small things, we might be able to save our planet... for at least a few years more.

I interned for an organization called NPAP (National Police Accountability Project) which fights against police brutality and other unfairness within the criminal justice system.
Everyone deserves the right to be treated fairly no matter what their race, ideology, or position in life. NPAP strives to achieve this and could really use your support.

I spread the word around about Diabetes...mainly Juvenile Diabetes because I have Adult Diabetes which I am old enough to know what I need to do to get me through every day. But children want to be normal and a child with diabetes has to watch what they eat and monitor sugar intake and can't eat what normal kids eat.
Watching children with this onset of diabetes and not being able to do anything about it but try to teach a young child what is good and not good for them is hard. Children just want to be kids...want to eat a popsicles or skittles and even potato chips but can’t because they can die from the illness.
Children will be our future and this disease kills many at a time and only because parents are not educated about it and especially kids.

“Baskets of Kindness” ~Weaving Community Spirit~ Times are getting tough for us. We thought to ourselves that is not just hard for us but the whole community and world for that fact. That's when we took a stand to help our community. rue should support our cause because it would benefit the community.

Hi! I live in a small town in Wisconsin. Our town doesn't allow us to pick up garbage on highways anymore because of an incident a couple years ago, so I have found other ways to help the Earth and my community. I love to grow plants in my backyard or pots - so I have some air-cleaning plants in my yard to help keep our air clean. I have also talked to my Girl Scout troop about planting flowers around town. I also try to recycle as much as possible. I am an animal lover and have many pets. When it comes to needing hay for my rabbits I pick it from places with long grass and let it dry out so I don't have to go buy hay and use more plastic that they come in. When ever I leave a room I'm sure to shut off all lights and TV’s. I am just one of the millions of people who try to help.

In my town there are many locations where people can go and donate their used clothes, shoes, and accessories. These things go straight to the local Salvation Army. When I go clean out my closet I take all of my unwanted clothes and accessories and donate them to the Salvation Army. That is how I make a difference.
When I was younger my mom and dad got divorced. My mom ended up having to deal with all of the bills by herself, so we did not have a lot of money. When school came around my siblings and I always needed knew clothes. My mom would take us shopping at stores, but when the money ran low we would go to thrift stores and the Salvation Army. Those type of stores really helped my family to save money and provided an efficient way for us to get the clothing that we needed when I was younger. Although, my family and I no longer need to shop at the Salvation Army I still feel a strong will to donate what I can.
The Salvation Army is an extremely important foundation. It provides families who are less fortunate with a way to be able to clothe their families on a tight budget. The Salvation Army also helps those who cannot help themselves; I now live in Chicago and the homeless population is unfortunately very high. The Salvation Army donates clothing to the homeless shelters so that even those who have little to no money can still have clean clothes to wear.

I have been doing a kind of service project like volunteering at the local hospital and it's really just a reward in it's self when I am there to see the smile on the peoples faces. I just stop and take a moment to think about the impact that I am making.
